Women's basketball downs Ozarks 62-46 as Reinneck reaches 1000 points

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The women's basketball team celebrated Emily Reinneck's 1000th career point with a 62-46 win against Ozarks (AR) on Tuesday night in H.J. Long Gymnasium.

Greenville led 18-17 after the first quarter and posted a 14-5 advantage in the second period to hold a 32-22 lead at halftime.

The third quarter was tied at 17-all, giving Greenville a 49-39 lead heading into the final quarter, and the Panthers outscored Ozarks 13-9 in the fourth stanza to win by 14.

The Panthers were outrebounded by a 47-32 margin, but Greenville was the beneficiary of 27 Ozarks' turnovers that resulted in 18 of GU's points.

Before the game, the Panthers honored Madelyn Stephen for recording her 1000th point in their game against Aurora, and Stephen responded with a team-high 15 points, six rebounds, and four blocked shots.

Reinneck finished with 12 points, and her sister Abigail Reinneck had a team-high four assists and chipped in 11 points. Maddy Meek also ended with 11 points.

Carolina Hoffman and Savana Powell-Goodman each collected three steals

The Panthers (5-1) travel to Crowley's Ridge in Arkansas for a game on Saturday afternoon.
