Women's volleyball sweeps Fontbonne in fifth straight victory

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The women's volleyball team rolled to a 25-15, 25-15, 25-11 win over Fontbonne on Thursday night to gain their fifth consecutive victory.

The Panthers jumped ahead with a .414 hitting percentage in the first set with 14 kills, two errors, and 29 attacks.

Greenville benefited from 10 Fontbonne errors in set number two and dominated on the scoreboard despite only managing a .111 attack rate in the set.

The Panthers got back on track with their attack in the third set with 14 kills, two errors, and 36 attacks to post a .333 hitting percentage.

Anna Finch paced GU with 10 kills, a .526 kill percentage, two service aces, and five block assists in recording 14 1/2 points.

Kaitlin Murray and Emily Stahl each provided three service aces, and Murray added 19 set assists.

Chasity Hill led the Greenville defensive effort with 16 digs, and Jasmin Smith put together a 13-dig night.

The SLIAC-leading Panthers (15-7, 10-1 SLIAC) host Eureka on Friday in H.J. Long Gymnasium at 7 p.m.
