GREENVILLE, Ill. - The women's basketball team outplayed Eureka on Wednesday as they captured an 82-57 win in the SLIAC opener for both teams. Jantzen Michael led all scorers in the game with 17 points, including a 5-for-9 effort behind the three-point line.
The Panthers took control of the game early, outscoring Eureka 22-14 after one period. They extended the lead to 45-32 at halftime.
In the third quarter, the Panthers added another nine points to their lead and managed to outdistance Eureka in the fourth quarter as well to finish with a 25 point win.
Emily Brandland had a solid outing for Greenville with 16 points and a team-high seven rebounds. Brandland, Michael, and Brittany Lopez all ended with three steals.
Wesley Woodard put 12 points on the scoreboard and added five assists.
The Panthers (3-1, 1-0 SLIAC) travel to Principia for a game on Saturday at 1 p.m.
