Women's basketball falls in 81-63 decision at Millikin

DECATUR, Ill. - The women's basketball team returned to action following the Christmas holiday break and lost 81-63 at Millikin on New Year's Eve. Emily Reinneck led all scorers with 19 points in the game.

The Panthers were outscored in each quarter, trailing 21-13 after the first quarter and 37-25 at halftime.

The score stood at 59-45 after the third period, and the contest ended with Millikin on top by 18 points.

Ally Cantrill and Savana Powell-Goodman added 11 points for the Panthers.

Reinneck put together a well-rounded effort with seven steals and six rebounds, leading the Panthers in each category.

The Panthers were inhibited by an unusually high total of 32 turnovers which sidetracked them throughout the game.

The Panthers (7-4) will travel to Eureka for their first conference game of the season on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
