Women's Tennis Swept By Webster, 9-0

The Westminster women's tennis team was swept by Webster University on Thursday, April 2, in the Blue Jays' first conference match of the season. The 9-0 loss brings the Blue Jays to 1-3 on the season.

The duo of sophomore Ellen Woolsey and junior Grace Sanford put up a fight in the number three spot, but were ultimately defeated 8-5. Competing in the number two doubles spot was sophomore Laura Kelly and junior Laura Wiltshire. They lost 8-3. In the number one spot, junior Jessica Klutts and freshman Peyton Beeler lost 8-2. 

The singles scores are: 1) M. Lewis defeats Klutts 6-0, 6-0; 2) M. Behrle defeats Beeler 6-1, 6-0; 3) K. Kress defeats Kelly 6-1, 6-0; 4) J. Stephens-Willis defeats Woolsey 6-0, 6-2; 5) S. Lass defeats Wiltshire 6-0, 6-1; 6) C. Foster defeats Sanford 8-1 (They played an 8-game pro set because of time). 

The Blue Jays will travel to Greenville College for their next SLIAC match on Monday, April 6.
