Westminster Falls To #15 Washington University

The Westminster softball team dropped two games to the #15 ranked team in the nation, Washington University. The Blue Jays fell 10-0 (6 inn.) in game one and 13-0 (5 inn.) in game two. 

Sophomore pitcher Alyson Hahn (8-9) threw ten strikeouts on 29 at bats in the six innings on the mound in game one. The Washington Bears scored three runs in the first inning and four in the fourth. They added three more runs in the sixth to grab ten runs. The Blue Jays left two stranded in the bottom to end the game an inning early, 10-0.

Freshman Amber Tepen led the offense with two of the team's three hits. 

The Bears scored multiple runs in the first four innings of game two, tallying 13 runs by the end of the fourth inning. Freshman Kim Morrison had the lone hit for the Blue Jays with a single up the middle in the second inning. 

Sophomore Charlotte King (0-1) suffered the loss on the mound after pitching the first two innings. Freshman Kat Cooper came in as relief and pitched the remaining three. 

The Blue Jays continue their consecutive game streak with a conference doubleheader at Spalding on Saturday, April 18. Game one begins at 6:30 p.m. eastern time. This game is part of the most recent schedule change and was originally scheduled for Sunday afternoon.
