Women's volleyball honors seniors, tops Eureka in three

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The women's volleyball team honored Maci Bonacorsi and the memory of Allyson Grabowski in its senior night Homecoming match on Friday night. The Panthers defeated Eureka in three sets.

The Panthers opened Friday's match with silence for their first 12 points. Upon scoring the 12th point of the match, Greenville's fans erupted in a celebration in honor of Grabowski who wore jersey number 12 for the team. Later in the evening when recognizing the seniors, Bonacorsi and her parents were honored. The program also had Grabowski's mother, sister, and fiancee come to the match and were brought to midcourt after Bonacorsi for Grabowski's senior recognition.

On the court, the Panthers were led by Anna Finch's nine kills and Emily Stahl's eight kills.

Jordan Lempa managed to provide 26 set assists for an offense that hit .240 with 39 kills, 16 errors, and 96 attacks. Lempa also led GU with three service aces.

Jasmin Smith was busy on defense with 19 digs in the match. Libero Chasity Hill recorded 17 digs.

At the net, Stahl provided a solo block and two block assists.

The Panthers (16-7, 11-1 SLIAC) head to Principia on Tuesday for a match at 7 p.m.
