HILTON HEAD, S.C. -- The men's tennis team defeated Thomas 8-1 before falling to Millikin 8-1 in action on Thursday.
In their first match of the day, all three of Greenville's doubles teams got the day started right.
No. 1 Nate Wieland and Justin Tilford captured an 8-2 win. Blake Gocey and Austin Burkhart grabbed an 8-2 win in No. 2 doubles, and No. 3 Brock Renshaw and Micah Harlan took an 8-4 win.
Greenville took five singles matches as No. 1 Nate Wieland, No. 2 Gocey, No. 4 Burkhart, and No. 5 Renshaw won in straight sets. It took No. 6 Jeremiah Brannon a 10-6 tiebreak to win his match.
Against Millikin, Greenville won in No. 3 doubles with Renshaw and Harlan's 8-3 win.
The Panthers (5-4) face Gordon on Friday.
