Webster's Uhrich Named D3 Baseball Preseason All-American

Webster University's Kyle Uhrich has been named to the d3baseball.com's preseason All-American team.  Uhrich, a first baseman from Webster Groves, MO (Webster Groves HS), was named to the All-American Second Team.

Uhrich led the NCAA III in home runs with 17 in 2015, his first season with the Gorloks.  Uhrich batted .354 with 63 RBIs to go along with the 17 round-trippers.  He led Webster in home runs, RBIs, runs scored (39), and slugging percentage (.697).  The 17 home runs were a Webster record and the 63 RBIs tied Uhrich for second highest total in a single season.

Uhrich was named to the ABCA/Rawlings 2015 All-American Second Team and was a 2015 d3baseball.com Honorable Mention All-American.  He was also named to the 2015 ABCA/Rawlings Central All-Region First Team, the d3baseball.com Central All-Region First Team, and was a St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference 2015 First Team All-Conference selection as well.

As a pitcher for Webster, Uhrich pitched in six games, striking out 17 in 9 2/3 shutout innings, while giving up just two hits and four walks.

The Gorloks were picked 5th in the ABCA/Collegiate Baseball preseason poll for 2016 recently, and Webster will host the NCAA III Central Regional at GCS Ballpark on May 18-22.
