MacMurray's Johnson Named D3hoops.com Second Team All-Region

MacMurray College's Deavis Johnson was named to the D3hoops.com Men's Basketball Second Team All-Central Region, capping off an impressive senior season for the Highlander. Johnson was honored by D3hoops.com as a Second Team member, becoming the first player from the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference to earn All-Region honors by the organization since the 2013-14 season when Brady Slagle, also of MacMurray, was named to the Third Team.

Johnson, a forward from East St. Louis, Mo., averaged 16.1 points and 10.5 rebounds per game this season; one of just two SLIAC players to average a double-double on the season. Johnson shot 53.5 percent from the field while finishing sixth in blocked shots and eighth in assists. Johnson was named the 2015-16 SLIAC Player of the Year and took home First Team All-Conference honors.
