Following his national championship Darnall decided to retire. He was inducted into the NAIA Hall of Fame in 2005.

"In the basketball world, naming a court is a tribute to excellence both on and off the court, and Coach Darnall exemplifies that excellence at Eureka College," said Eureka Athletics Director Steve Thompson.

Eureka recently completed the $2 million renovation of their basketball courts inside the Reagan Athletic Complex this past fall. Renovations included a new wall to wall MVP floor court surface, sound system, a VIP balcony area, Hall of Fame room, and complete chair-back seating with a capacity for 1,500 fans.
