Eureka's Sain Nominated for Allstate NABC Good Works Team

Eureka College senior men's basketball player Michael Sain (Columbus, Ohio/Reynoldsburg) is up for nomination for the 2016 Allstate National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Good Works Team, according to an announcement this morning from the Allstate Insurance Company. Sain was a member of the NABC 2014-15 Honors Court that was released this past July.

Sain, a Ronald W. Reagan Leadership fellow and two-sport athlete, has appeared 36 games over his career as a member of the men's basketball team. He has been a member of the EC men's track & field team, helping the men's 4x100 take home a third place finish at the SLIAC outdoor track meet in April. Sain received SLIAC Spring All-Academic honors and was selected by his peers as Eureka College's Man of the Year as a junior. He was recently honored by The Lincoln Academy of Illinois at its annual Student Laureate Convocation at the Old State Capitol for his work in civic engagement.

Allstate announced an all-time high 257 total nominees for the 2016 Allstate NABC and WBCA Good Works Team. This distinguished award shines a spotlight on a select group of student-athletes who have shown dedication to service in their communites.

Members of the Allstate NABC Good Works Team® will be invited by Allstate, an official corporate partner of the NCAA, to the 2016 NABC Convention and 2016 NCAA Men's Final Four® in Houston, where they will participate in a community service project benefitting the city. Members of the Allstate WBCA Good Works Team® will be recognized during the 2016 WBCA Convention and at the 2016 NCAA Women's Final Four® in Indianapolis, and will also participate in a local volunteer project. Allstate is an official corporate partner of the NABC, WBCA and NCAA.
