Blue Jays Men Headed to St. Louis to Face DePauw

The Westminster men's soccer team drew DePauw University in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament. The Westminster Blue Jays face off with DePauw on Saturday, November 14, at 7:30 pm at Washington University in St. Louis. This is the team's fourth NCAA Tournament appearance and third conseuctive appearance. 

No. 18 Washington University will host Millsaps in the other First Round game at 5:00 pm. The winners of the two first round games will play each other in the second round on Sunday, November 15, at 5:00 pm. 

The Blue Jays enter the NCAA Tournament with a 17-2 record. They posted a perfect 9-0 record in conference play and defeated Webster University in the SLIAC Tournament Championship. The team is on an eight game winning streak with seven of them as shutout wins. The Blue Jays offense is led by juniors Tripp Sheehan and Drew Cook. Each have 12 goals scored and Sheehan has 15 assists on the season. 

In goal, junior Raul Belman holds a 14-2-0 record with six shutouts. He holds a .66 goals-against average, allowing just nine goals throughout 16 games. In the final three games, freshman Tanner Moesch has started in goal. He holds a 3-0 record with two shutouts. He currently holds a .37 goals-against average, allowing just two goals.

DePauw finished their regular season with an 11-3-4 record and a 6-1-2 conference record. They earned at at-large bid after losing to Ohio Wesleyan in their conference semifinals. Tiger's Julian Gonzalez leads their scoring with eight goals, including four game-winners. Adrian Ables leads the assists category with six.

In goal, senior Chris Yount has posted a 10-3-4 record with six shutouts. He's recorded 70 saves and holds a 1.21 goals-against average.
