Bollinger Appointed Cross Country and Track and Field Head Coach; Mantooth Assistant
The Westminster College athletic department announced the appointment of Mark Bollinger as the Head Cross Country and Track and Field coach, supported by Scott Mantooth as Assistant Coach. Bollinger moves into the new role after serving three years as the Assistant Coach under the guidance of Jim Marshall.
"I am happy and excited to have this opportunity," said Bollinger. "It is a honor and privilege to work with these student-athletes, and I look forward to helping them succeed in their academic and athletic endeavors."
Bollinger spent a combined 11 years as a head cross country and track and field coach at the middle school level, and nine years as the Head Track and Field Coach at Blair Oaks High School. He has also served as the Head Track Inspector for MSHSAA Track and Field Class 3 & 4 State Championships since 1988, and added Class 1 & 2 State Championships in 2000.
A native mid-Missourian, Bollinger graduated from Jefferson City High School before earning his B.S. from College of the Ozarks and MBA from Lincoln University.
"We are excited to name Mark Bollinger as Head Coach of our cross country and track and field programs," stated Director of Athletics Tracey Braden. "Mark brings a wealth of knowledge and experience coaching cross country and track and field, and since Mark has been assisting with our programs for the past three years, we are confident that he will continue to grow the programs and build on the previous successful seasons."
Mantooth previously volunteered with the Westminster cross country and track and field teams under Coach Dave Tobey from 2008–2012. He holds coaching experience at the collegiate level, as well as head coaching experience at the high school level.
While competing at the collegiate level, Mantooth was a NCAA Division II Cross Country All-American and achieved All-Conference honors in both cross country and track and field at Missouri State University. He received his B.S. and M.S. from Missouri State University.
Mark and Scott will assume their coaching duties on Aug. 15.
