Graber to Head CC and Track & Field Programs
Webster University Athletics is pleased to announce that Dan
Graber has accepted the positions of Head Cross Country and Track
& Field Coach for both its men's and women's programs.
Graber comes to Webster after five years on the Centre College
(Ky.) cross country and track staffs.
Graber served as an assistant coach for both sports at Centre from
2008-2013. In addition to managing recruitment for both
sports, Graber specifically supervised the training for middle
distance, hurdles, and pole vault events for track.
During Graber's tenure, Centre won men's track and field
conference championships in 2011 and 2012, and won cross country
championships for men in 2008 and 2012, and women in 2011 and
2012.
The 2011 Centre men's cross country had the highest team grade
point average of any NCAA III team in the nation. Also in
2011, Graber was named the USTFCCCA South/Southeast Regional Men's
Assistant Track and Field Coach of the Year.
Director of Athletics Dr. Tom
Hart says of Graber,
"We are extremely excited that Coach Graber has accepted our offer to
lead the Webster Cross Country and Track programs. His
passion for recruiting, combined with his work ethic in developing
student-athletes will make him an ideal member of our coaching
staff."
Graber noted, "I am very grateful the search committee and Dr. Tom
Hart have given me the opportunity to join an amazing staff at
Webster University. It is an ideal place to embark on my head
coaching career. With the University's opportunities for
student-athletes and its location in a great city like St. Louis,
Webster's the ideal place to build an outstanding program. I
can't wait to begin work guiding the dedicated Webster
student-athletes and bringing future Gorloks to campus."
Graber graduated from Heidelberg University (Oh.), where he was a
three-time Academic All-American in cross country, with a BA in
2006. He completed his master of theological studies at Emory
University (Ga.) in 2008.
Graber, his wife Jillian, and 7-month old son, Jamie, will be
relocating to St. Louis in time for an August 1 start date.
