Fontbonne Moves Up Five Spots in NFCA Poll
On the heels of their SLIAC Tournament title the Fontbonne University softball team moved up five spots in this week's National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) national poll to #18 in NCAA Division III. The Griffins recevied 56 points in this week's poll, jumping up to #18 in country from #23 last week.
Fontbonne is 30-9 overall this season and captured their sixth consecutive SLIAC Tournament title last weekend, completing an undefeated conference season through both the regular and postseason. Fontbonne is set to face Aurora University in the first round of the NCAA Division III national tournament in Pella, Iowa this weekend.
Tufts University is the #1 team in the poll for the 12th consecutive week and are the two-time defending Division III national champions. Fontbonne, along with #17 ranked Moravian, made the biggest jumps on the week, both moving up five spots. For a complete list of the May 6, 2015 NFCA national poll click HERE
