MacMurray's Harris Tosses No-Hitter
MacMurray College junior Marissa Harris tossed a no-hitter on Thursday in game one of her team's double header sweep of Principia College. MacMurray notched an 8-0 win in game one as Harris went five innings and allowed no hits while striking out eight and walking three. Harris, from Shannon, Ill., becomes the first SLIAC softball pitcher to throw a no-hitter during the 2015 season.
Nine Highlanders picked up a hit in game one as Stephanie Watkins and Melinda Wilson each added two hits. The Highlanders went on to take game two of the double header by the score of 9-1. MacMurray improves to 6-9 overall and 2-2 in the SLIAC.
