Six SLIAC Players Named NFCA Division III All-Region
The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) is well represented on the 2015 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Region team as a total of six student-athletes were honored by the organization for their outstanding 2015 seasons. Fontbonne University had four players named to the team while Greenville College was represented by two players.
Fontbonne's Cassi Glixman, Danni Glixman, Madison Leonard, and Emily Smith were named to the 2015 NFCA All-Region team. Cassi Glixman (First Base), Danni Glixman (At-Large), and Madison Leonard (Pitcher) all earned First Team All-Region honors while Smith (At-Large) was named to the Third Team.
Greenville's Bryn McKie and Tiffany Samsoe picked up 2015 NFCA All-Region honors for the Panthers. McKie picked up First Team honors as an outfielder while Samsoe was named Second Team as a catcher.
All-Region players are nominated and selected by NFCA member coaches in each of the eight Division III regions. First team All-Region choices are eligible for selection to the NFCA All-America team, which will be announced the evening of May 21 online at NFCA.org and in person at the NCAA Division III Championship banquet in Salem, Va.
