Rosner is in his eighth season as Griffins head coach, taking over the program in 2009. He has guided the Griffins to six consecutive NCAA Division III Tournaments and is a three time St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Coach of the Year award winner. He is already the program's all-time leader in coaching wins and set a school record with 34 wins, doing so in both the 2013 and 2014 seasons. In 2014 he also set a school record by winning 20 consecutive games.

Success for the Griffins has not been just on the field but also in the classroom, finishing in the top ten among NCAA Division III softball teams in team grade-point average in each of the last five years including the top overall spot in the 2012 season.

Fontbonne was picked as the 2016 SLIAC Softball preseason favorites. They open up conference play on March 31 with a home double header         against Webster University.
