Kruse and Price Named Google Cloud CoSIDA Academic All-District

Alleigh Kruse and Katie Price represent the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference on the 2018 Google Cloud CoSIDA Academic All-District Team. Kruse, from Fontbonne University, and Price, from Westminster College, are the only two representatives to receive the recognition from the SLIAC. Both players were named to the District 5 First Team. 

Alleigh Kruse, from Highland, Illinois, had a career season for the Griffins where she batted .362 totaling 38 hits, 17 runs scored, seven doubles, one triple, one homer and 23 RBI. In her three seasons with the Griffins, Kruse closes out with a .317 average, 92 hits, 46 runs scored, 15 doubles, four triples, one homer and 49 RBI.

Price, from Ashland, Mo., picks up the academic honors after being named the SLIAC Pitcher of the Year and First Team All-Conference honors for her efforts on the field. A sophomore, she was 14-9 in the circle with a 2.20 earned-run average and 122 strikeouts; throwing a no-hitter and a perfect game. She also hit .350 with 27 runs batted in at the plate.

In order to be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at her current institution.
