Four Land On NFCA All-Region Team

Four players from the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference have landed on the 2018 National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Region team. Earning honors this year are Kate Jolliff-Rosado, Brooke Laidley, Katie Price, and Jordyn Wieland.

Laidley and Price are both members of the Westminster College softball team. Laidley earned a spot on the First Team at second baseman while Price picked up Third Team at-large honors. Laidley led the Blue Jays with an impressive .391 batting average, posting an impressive .424 on-base percentage and a .617 slugging percentage. She totaled 15 doubles, a triple, and four home runs this season. At second base, Laidley posted 50 assists and a .975 fielding percentage, including four double plays this season. She was also named a First-Team selection for the SLIAC this season. 

Price, adding to her accolades for the 2018 season, was an at-large selection to the All-Region third team. She was named Pitcher of the Year for the SLIAC, throwing both a no-hitter and a perfect game in back-to-back conference games this season. In addition, she broke the program season records for shutouts (five) and wins (14). She recorded an ERA of 2.20 with 122 strikeouts this season. At the plate, she batted .350 with 27 runs batted in. 

Jolliff-Rosado and Wieland were two centerpieces of the Greenville University offense this year. Jolliff-Rosado was named to the First-Team as a shortstop while Wieland was named Third Team as an at-large selection. Jolliff-Rosado hit .446 this season with 9 home runs and 45 runs batted in while being named the SLIAC Player of the Year. She finished with 54 hits, including 18 doubles, and a .818 slugging percentage with 16 stolen bases.

Wieland, an outfielder, hit .336 this season and scored a team-high 35 runs. She finished with 42 hits while also walking 14 times and recording a .403 on-base percentage. Wieland added 25 stolen bases from her leadoff spot.
