Webster's Holman Gives Helping Hand In Honduras

Webster University basketball player Chelsea Holman is spending part of her summer on a mission trip at the Helping Hands Academy in Roatan, Honduras. Holman (SR, Decherd, TN/Franklin County HS) is helping to teach children at the Academy and aiding the local community at large.
Gatson Chosen as SLIAC Female Scholar Athlete of the Year

Westminster's senior Kasey Gatson was chosen as the 2016 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Female Scholar Athlete of the Year and will be awarded the post-graduate scholarship.

Iowa Wesleyan inducted three members into the Athletic Hall of Fame for the class of 2016. Harold Tackleson '31 (posthumously), Cathy Borck Frahm '86, and Don Grensing '52 were inducted at the April 15, 2016 Athletic Hall of Fame and Awards Ceremony in Ruble Arena.

Tigers Fall In USCAA Championship Game

The Iowa Wesleyan women's basketball team took on Concordia-Alabama this afternoon for the championship game in the USCAA National Tournament. The outcome may not have been what the Tigers were hoping for, but they battled the entire game and never gave up. Iowa Wesleyan's late comeback came up short, and they fell 65-72 to the Hornets.

Tigers Move On To USCAA Championship Game

The Tigers took on Rochester College in the semifinal round of the USCAA National Basketball Championships this afternoon. This was the first time Iowa Wesleyan had made it past the first round of the tournament. In the two previous trips to the USCAA National Tournament, the team lost their first round game. Iowa Wesleyan used a big first quarter and balanced scoring throughout the game to defeat the Warriors of Rochester College 74-60 and advance to the championship game.

Tigers Honored At USCAA Banquet

The United States Collegiate Athletic Association hosted a banquet to help kick off the 2016 USCAA National Basketball Championships. At the banquet, awards winners were announced for National All-Academic teams, All-American teams, Coach of the Year, and Student-Athlete of the Year. Four members of the Iowa Wesleyan women's basketball team received honors at this year's banquet.

The win extends the Westminster Blue Jay's winning streak to 15 games, tying the program record. They are now 21-4 on the season.
