SLIAC Raises Over $3800 For American Cancer Society
This past season the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) and the American Cancer Society partnered for a conference wide Coaches vs. Cancer fundraiser. Participating conference school members held various collections and ceremonies during their Coaches vs. Cancer game; including raffles, remembrance balloon release, and accepting donations. Together coaches, fans, and friends raised over $3800 during the week long event. Westminster College raised over $2,000 alone and will receive a 'traveling trophy' presented by the American Cancer Society for their efforts.

The SLIAC, a NCAA Division III athletic conference, consists of 10 schools across four states and is the first conference in the country at any level to select Coaches vs. Cancer as their philanthropy of choice for the season. SLIAC school members join more than 4,000 basketball coaches from across the country as they join the fight against cancer.
Coaches vs. Cancer, founded in 1993, is a nationwide collaborative between the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches. The initiative aims to increase cancer awareness, highlights the importance of nutrition and physical activity in reducing a person's cancer risk, and promotes the American Cancer Society's free programs and services available to those facing cancer. Since 1993, coaches have raised more than $100 million for the American Cancer Society and the fight against cancer.
