Rogers Joins Webster Women's Basketball Staff

Jade Rogers will join the Webster University women's basketball program as an assistant for 2016-17 season. A native of Cedar Rapids, IA, Rogers has a coaching background

after having an outstanding playing career.

Rogers was most recently an assistant at Coe College (IA) in 2015-16, where the team finished 15-12.  After a stellar high school career, Rogers played her freshman season at the University of Iowa.  She also played a season at Maryville University in St. Louis, where she averaged 8.8 points and 8.9 rebounds in 23 games for the Saints.

At Kennedy HS in Cedar Rapids, Rogers was a four-time Iowa All-State selection, including first team honors as a sophomore, junior and senior, was a two-time conference Player of the Year, and metro Player of the Year as a senior.  A McDonald's All-American nominee, she led her team to quarterfinal round of the state tournament as a junior and senior, averaging 18.3 points, 11.4 rebounds, and 3.5 assists as a senior.  Rogers holds school records for career rebounds (952), rebounding average (11.63), and is third in all-time scoring (1499 points).  She also holds single game rebound (20), and season rebounding average (12.26) records.

Rogers was a four-time Academic Athlete Award winner at Kennedy and was given President's Award For Educational Excellence in 2010 (for gpa of 3.5 or higher along with 85% percentile of national standardized tests).

"I am excited to welcome coach Rogers to our program", said head coach Jordan Olufson.  "Jade brings solid post playing experience and a history of great coaching to the program.  She is going to be good with our current players, not just in the post but in their overall development. Jade will be great with recruiting as well, as she is very personable with a great energy."
