Five Women's Soccer Players Named NSCAA All-Region

Five women's soccer players from St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) institutions were honored by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) as members of the 2015 All-Central Region teams.

Both Webster University and Spalding University each had two honorees while Principia College was also represented. Webster's Ashley Mess was named to the First Team, while teammate Brianna Pagan earned Third Team honors. Mess, a senior defender from St. Louis, Mo., becomes the first Gorlok to earn First Team All-Region honors in program history. Mess was the 2015 SLIAC Co-Defensive Player of the Year and finished the season with four goals and five assists. Pagan, a sophomore midfielder from St. Louis, Mo.,netted four goals and two assists while earning First Team All-Conference honors this past season.

Spalding was represented on the All-Central Region teams by Dee Dee Sliter and Demi West, who paired to help the Golden Eagles make their first SLIAC Tournament appearance. Sliter, a junior forward from Louisville, Ky., tied for the conference lead with 17 goals and totaled 37 points, while being named the SLIAC Player of the Year. West, a junior defender from Sheffield, England, led a defense that allowed nearly half the amount of goals from the previous season; earning First Team All-Conference honors.

Principia's Rachel Perera earned Second Team All-Central Region honors after anchoring the Panthers defense this past year. Perea, a junior defender from St. Louis, Mo., recorded three goals and one assist while earning Second Team All-Conference honors.
