Principia Women's Tennis set to play University of Chicago in first round of NCAA tournament

ELSAH, ILL. -- Principia College's women's tennis team won the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) championship tournament and is now headed to the first round of the NCAA DIII National tournament.  The brackets just came out and Principia is slated to face the University of Chicago Maroons this Thursday at 3:00 pm at the University of Chicago.

The University of Chicago women's tennis team is hosting seven teams in the region for the first round of bracket play.  They are currently ranked 3rd in the Central Region and 12th in the nation for NCAA DIII tennis.

Principia's women's tennis team will make the drive up to Chicago on Wednesday morning, and upon arrival they will take some time to practice on the host site's courts.  The team will then have their end of the season banquet dinner that night in Chicago and attend a local church service for a Wednesday night testimony meeting.

The other teams that will be traveling to the University of Chicago for the first round are: Carleton College, Carnegie Mellon University, Hope College, Westminster College (Pa.) and Wheaton College (Ill.).
