Davis-Goldstein Named Webster Women's Head Tennis Coach

Martha Davis-Goldstein has assumed the head coaching position for the Webster University women's tennis team for 2013-14.  Davis-Goldstein has been an assistant men's and women's tennis coach since 2010.  She will take over the head coaching duties from Mike Siener, who will remain head coach for the men's team.

Davis-Goldstein joined the Webster Athletic Department as Assistant to the Athletic Director in 2010, in addition to coaching tennis.  She added the duties of managing the Webster Groves Tennis Center in 2011, and recently was named the Alumni Programs Coordinator for the Athletic Department as well.  Davis-Goldstein noted about her new role, "I am very excited to take on the women's tennis program as head coach. My goal is to improve our mental, physical, and competitive game."

Siener said about Davis-Goldstein, "I am excited for Martha assuming the head coaching duties for women's tennis.  Since her arrival at Webster, she has been an integral part in all phases of the program and has helped build a very successful team.  I look for the women's tennis squad to reach new heights under her leadership!"

Davis-Goldstein played tennis at Simpson College in Iowa and competed in #1 singles and doubles for three years.  At Simpson, she served as President of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and was a strength and conditioning undergraduate assistant.

Davis-Goldstein earned her bachelors of arts degree in Sports Administration at Simpson and a master's of science in Sport Administration at the University of Northern Colorado.  At Northern Colorado, she worked as the graduate assistant of intramural sports for two years and as a marketing assistant for American Collegiate Intramural Sports for one year.  Davis-Goldstein was married earlier this year and she and her husband, Mike, reside in Shrewsbury, MO.
