MacMurray Takes Lead on SLIAC/SAAC Challenge (March 1, 2019)
MacMurray College has jumped in front in the conference-wide race of the SLIAC/SAAC Challenge. MacMurray was the only school in the conference to reach double figures in points for the winter season, totaling 10,840 points from November through February.....MORE

Eureka Falls to Nebraska Wesleyan (March 2, 2019)
One game into the Division III NCAA tournament, Nebraska Wesleyan's repeat national championship hopes are alive and well. In front of a rowdy, sell-out crowd at NWU's Snyder Arena, the top-ranked Prairie Wolves (27-1) ended the Eureka College men's historic tourney run with an emphatic 101-75 win over the Red Devils Friday night.....MORE

Record Season Closes for Greenville (March 2, 2019)
The Greenville women's basketball team made their second appearance at the NCAA Division III national tournament and fell to George Fox 85-53 to end their record-setting season.....MORE


AROUND THE SLIAC

Blackburn College

The Blackburn softball team opened 2019 with a pair of non-conference wins over MacMurray. The Beavers won 11-0 and 8-6 and will now head to Fort Myers, Florida for eight games over four days during spring break next week.

Eureka College

Eureka has named Nick Mackall the 14th head coach Red Devils volleyball program history. Mackall spent the previous four season at Adrian College and is a graduate of Indiana University.....MORE

Fontbonne University

The Griffins softball team started their season last week with a doubleheader against Maryville. Two Griffins also picked up Player of the Week honors as Emelia Modglin was named Hitter of the Week and Diamond Thomas was chosen the Pitcher of the Week.

Greenville University

The Greenville women's tennis team is off to a fast start this season with a 3-1 record. The Panthers will travel to Hilton Head, S.C. next week for five days of competition.

Iowa Wesleyan University

Jarryd Fernandes of the Tigers men's basketball team was named the Iowa Wesleyan Student-Athlete of the Month for Februrary. He averaged 21 points and 8.6 rebounds per game including a high of 51 points in which he set the Tigers single game record with 21 field goals. He is also a member of SAAC.

MacMurray College

All month long the SLIAC will be joining in National Athletic Training month and highlighting A.T.'s from around the conference. This week we put the focus on MacMurrray Head Athletic Trainer Bryan Langan. Read his interview HERE

Principia College

Principia's Paige Cooley returned to the tennis courts after one year away and hasn't missed a step. Cooley was named the SLIAC Player of the Week this week after recording four overall wins including two at #1 singles.

Spalding University

The Spalding baseball team recorded their second win over a ranked opponent this season after defeating #8 Concordia-Chicago 4-3 last Friday. The Golden Eagles opened their season with an 8-5 win over #2 Wisconsin-Whitewater and are currently 7-3 on the season.

Webster University

The Webster University baseball team swept the SLIAC Player of the Week awards with Ben Swords being named Hitter of the Week and Sean Beaver earning Pitcher of the Week honors.

Westminster College

The 2019 SLIAC Softball preseason favorites have had to cancel or postpone eight games already this season. The Blue Jays, who did get two games in a couple of weekends ago, are scheduled to play six games during their Spring Break trip to California.
