Mental Health and Wellness: Techno Stress
Mental Health and Wellness is a growing concern, particularly in the time of a pandemic. This past spring the NCAA launched a new Mental Health and Wellness campaign to serve as a platform for student-athletes, administrators, coaches, staff, and support networks across the country. The campaign was started to begin a discussion, speak out on, and break the stigma surrounding mental health.
In conjunction with the NCAA's year-long campaign, the SLIAC will be releasing weekly talks with Dr. Dawn Graff-Haight over the next few weeks. Our goal is to not only provide a starting point to begin talks on mental health and wellness but to offer tips and ways to cope with numerous issues.
This week takes a look at Techno Stress. Technology has changed our world, creating a global community. However, the technological advances that we use every day can also create added stress in our lives, including a recent surge in cyberbullying. In this session, we learn how to reduce that stress and take a deeper look into cyberbullying. Please come back each week for more tips and tools in learning more about Mental Health and Wellness.
