St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Players of the Week for September 6, 2022

     
Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week
   

Rex Heath, Principia College

A freshman runner, Heath opened his collegiate career with a 3rd place finish at the Principia Opener. Running on the 6k course he finished with a time of 20:22 and was the top finisher in a field that featured runners from four other conference schools. 

Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week  
 

Kyanne Williams, Webster University

Williams took 3rd place out of a field of 29 runners at the Principia Opener. The senior finished the course of just over 4,000 meters in a time of 17:06 and was the highest SLIAC finisher in the field. 

Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
 

Shane Greathouse, Blackburn College

Greathouse picked up goals in his team's first two games of the season including a hat trick in the season opener. The junior was the game's only goal scorer in the Beavers 3-0 win over Moody Bible. He added another goal in a 4-0 win against Andrews. On the week Greathouse netted four goals on seven shots.

Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
  Luke Dillon, Webster University

Dillon recorded a shutout in his collegiate debut with the Gorloks. The freshman keeper stopped all six shots he faced in drawing a 0-0 tie against Dominican. 

Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week    
 

Baeli Young, Spalding University

Young wasted little time in getting off on the right foot to the season, recording three goals and two assists in her team's 5-0 win over Berea. The junior set up the game's first goal and then buried two first-half goals. She set up the fourth goal of the game and completed her hat trick with a goal in the final 30-seconds of the game.

Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week    
 

Leslie Barrera, Principia College

A sophomore keeper, Leslie Barrera recorded five saves in a 3-0 win over Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis. Barrera played nearly 85-minutes of shutout action and one of her five saves was on a breakaway. 

Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week    
 

Eryka Wanyonyi, Westminster College

A senior outside hitter, Wanyonyi helped the Blue Jays to three wins on the opening weekend. She put down 52 kills and totaled 63.5 points over four matches. Wanyonyi averaged 3.25 kills per set, hitting .201 on the week. She had three double-digit kill matches with a high of 19 in a win over Monmouth.

Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week    
 

Holly Heuerman, Blackburn College

Heuerman tallied 53 digs in three matches last weekend, averaging 4.82 digs per set. She recorded double-digit digs in all three matches including a career-high 20 digs against Harris-Stowe.

  • Mirsa Boyer, Principia College (Women's Soccer) Tallied a pair of goals in a 3-0 win over Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis.
  • Victor Dos Santos Reis, Principia College (Men's Soccer) Had two goals in a 3-2 win over Illinois College.
  • Grace Henrikson, Westminster College (Volleyball) Had back-to-back 20 dig outings for the Blue Jays to close out the weekend.
  • Rylee Helus, Blackburn College (Women's Soccer) Recorded 24 total saves in two games last week including a high of 13 against Rockford.
  • Sophia King, Blackburn College (Women's Soccer) Notched four goals in her team's win over Mount Mary.
  • Krystal Kohenskey, Fontbonne University (Women's Soccer) Recorded five points in three games with two goals and one assist. 
  • Jessica Muckensturm, Blackburn College (Volleyball) Had 18 kills while hitting .389 in a five-set match against Harris-Stowe.
  • Joe Noah, Fontbonne University (Men's Soccer) Tallied three goals in three games including two in the season opener.
  • Abby Poe, Webster University (Women's Soccer) Had two goals in a win over Monmouth and added a third goal in a win over Rose-Hulman.
