The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Players of the Week for September 12, 2022

     
Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week
   

Cameron Sakuma, Webster University

Sakuma paced the Gorloks at the Twilight Invite this past weekend; finishing in the top 100 in a field of 240 runners. The senior completed the 8k course in a time of 27:23, marking his fastest time in a race of that length since 2019. 

Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week  
 

Kyanne Williams, Webster University

For the second straight week, Williams takes home the conference award. The senior Gorlok completed her 5k race at the Twilight Invite in a time of 20:33. Which marked her 3rd fastest collegiate time. She placed 75th in a field of 196 runners. 

Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
 

Noah Abraham, Webster University

Abraham helped the Gorloks go undefeated last week. He tallied the only goals of the game in a 2-0 win over Wabash. Abraham scored at the 9-minute mark to give the Gorloks the lead and extended that lead with another tally at the 62-minute mark. He finished with six shots in two games last week. 

Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
  Torben Rehnert, Principia College

Rehnert, a sophomore keeper, picked up a win in net for the Panthers against Harris-Stowe. He played 84:51 in net before the game was called due to weather, allowing just one goal while stopping 13 shots in the victory. He finished with a .929 save percentage on the week. 

Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week    
 

Hannah Shylanski, Westminster College

A freshman forward Shylanski netted a pair of goals in helping the Blue Jays to a 4-2 win over Ozarks. Shylanski scored her first collegiate goal just 30-seconds into the game and added her second at the 30-minute mark. She did her damage on five shots in the game.

Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week    
 

Angie Calabrese, Webster University

Calabrese, a junior defender, helped the Gorloks to a win last week while holding opponents to three goals in two games. She also scored the game-winner in a 3-1 win over Benedictine. 

Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week    
 

Lauren Borik, Webster University

Borik opened her season with back-to-back double-digit kill outings, putting down 35 kills total in her two matches. She hit .293 on the week, averaging 3.5 kills per set while adding five service aces and finishing with 42.5 total points. Borik had a high of 20 kills in her team's 3-2 win over Health Sciences and Pharmacy. 

Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week    
 

Cassie Gray, Webster University

A sophomore defensive specialist Gray totaled 55 digs in helping the Gorloks to a pair of wins on the week. She averaged 5.5 digs per set including a season conference high of 31 digs. Gray also had a 24-dig outing in a win over Illinois College.

  • Olivia Bosch, Spalding University (Women's Soccer) Stopped 10 shots in a game against Covenant. 
  • Tavis Cameron, Webster University (Men's Soccer) Anchored a line that picked up a pair of shutouts while winning the Robbie Dreher Classic title last weekend.
  • Brooklyn Shell, Eureka College (Volleyball) Had a pair of double-double matches, averaging 2.46 kills and 3.69 digs per set in three matches.
