The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Players of the Week for January 23, 2023

     
Men's Basketball Player of the Week
 

Karl Moore Jr., Webster University

The sophomore forward put up 10.0 points and 12.0 rebounds over two games, helping the Gorloks to a pair of conference wins. He totaled nine blocked shots in the two games, becoming the Gorloks' career leader in blocked shots. Moore Jr. also added seven assists and three steals on the week.

Women's Basketball Player of the Week
  Annette Ramirez, Westminster College

Ramirez exploded for 33 points in a win over Greenville and averaged 26.0 points over two wins for the Blue Jays last week. She also averaged 6.5 rebounds per game and shot 60 percent from the field while knocking down 6-of-12 threes. She added four assists on the week. 

Men's Field Athlete of the Week
  Dylan Webster, Greenville University

Webster had three top-three showings at the Snow Bird Invite. He took first in the high jump with a mark of 6'7"; ranking him 7th in Division III this season. He also took 3rd in the pole vault (14'1") and long jump (21'5").

Men's Track Athlete of the Week
  CJ Anderson, Greenville University

Anderson got off to a fast start this season, taking 1st place in the 55-meter dash at the Snow Bird Invite. He finished in 6.35 seconds, setting a program record and a new IC Field House record. His time ranks him 4th in Division III this season.

Women's Field Athlete of the Week
  Talahiva Talanoa, Greenville University

The sophomore thrower picked up a pair of 3rd-place showings at the Snow Bird Invite. She set a new personal record in the shot put with a distance of 39'5" and marked 43'7.25" in the weight throw. 

Women's Track Athlete of the Week
  Cayden Sharp, Greenville University

Sharp opened the year up with a new program record in the 55-meter hurdles, finishing in 8.39 seconds. She placed 1st at the Snow Bird Invitational and also competed in the 4x400 relay, finishing 3rd.

  • Natalie Fichter, Spalding University (Women's Basketball) Averaged 13.5 points and 11.5 rebounds in two games.
  • Mark Fisher, Fontbonne University (Men's Field) Set a program record in the weight throw with a distance of 38'2.25". 
  • Alexa Lofgren, Fontbonne University (Women's Track) The sophomore took 1st in the 400-meter race, finishing in 1:04 seconds and setting a new PR in the 200-meters.
  • Peter McGowan, Spalding University (Men's Track) New PR in the 5000 meters, besting the previous mark by nine seconds.
  • Madison Nelson, Fontbonne University (Women's Basketball) Averaged 22.5 points over two games, shooting 75 percent from the field.
  • Elijah Perez, Webster University (Men's Track) Set a PR in the 55-meter dash at 6.62 seconds.
  • Cheikh Thiam, Fontbonne University (Men's Basketball) Averaged 12.0 points and 14.5 rebounds in two wins for the Griffins.
  • Armond Williams, Webster University (Men's Field) Finished 2nd in the high jump, setting a new PR at 6'4". 
  • Dawn Wilson, Spalding University (Women's Track) Set a new personal record in the 60-meters with a time of 8.77 seconds.
