The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Players of the Week for March 13, 2023

Diamond Sports Baseball Hitter of the Week
  Thomas Purschke, Fontbonne University

Purschke continues his torrid pace at the plate, winning his second straight award. The senior hit .471 last week, driving in 12 over five games. He had hits in every game last week including two multi-hit games with a high of three against Marian and twice drove in four in a game. He is currently on a seven-game hitting streak.

Diamond Sports Pitcher of the Week
  Derek Archer, Westminster College

Archer notched his first collegiate win, going 9 scoreless innings against Grinnell. He allowed just one hit, walking none, and striking out nine. 

Softball Hitter of the Week
  Kaley Adzick, Webster University

The freshman went 8-for-13 in four games for the Gorloks last week, hitting .615 and finishing with a .846 slugging percentage. Adzick had a pair of four-hit games and scored three times while driving in seven on the week. She had three doubles and drew two walks.

Softball Pitcher of the Week
  Michaela Ferman, Spalding University

The freshman pitcher recorded her first two collegiate wins last week, finishing the week 2-0 with a 0.00 earned run average and 12 strikeouts. She threw three no-hit innings of relief against Worcester State, striking out three. Ferman then threw a complete game against Scranton, allowing one unearned run and striking out nine.

  • RJ Arredondo, Blackburn College (Baseball) Three multi-hit games in four games last week.
  • Mia Boyd, Greenville University (Softball) Finished with four hits and four RBI in a doubleheader against Rose-Hulman. 
  • Ashley Carrow, Fontbonne University (Softball) Went 4-for-4 in a win over Geneva.
  • Michelle Hollon, Blackburn College (Softball) Picked up two wins in four appearances last week, carrying a 0.93 earned-run average over 15 innings.
  • Garrett Mathews, Spalding University (Baseball) Picked up a complete game shutout win over Transylvania, striking out 10.
  • Vonner Panek, Fontbonne University (Baseball) Threw 5 2/3 scoreless innings of relief, picking up the win.
  • Dryden Schroeder, Spalding University (Baseball) Had four hits in a win over Transylvania. 
  • Parker Wielt, Webster University (Baseball) Finished with six hits in a doubleheader against Chapman.
