Principia Maintains Attendance Contest Lead

Principia College maintains its lead in the SLIAC Women's Sports attendance contest although Webster University has closed in on the lead.

Principia is at 46.9% this semester, an increase from the first update by over 14 percent. Webster meanwhile increased their percentage by over 32 percent, jumping to 36.4% of undergraduates checking in at Gorlok women's athletic events. Blackburn College sits at 10.5% while Spalding is at 3.0%. Eureka College, Fontbonne University, and Greenville University have combined for 3.3% of the student population.

A total of 305 student-athletes have checked-in this semester with basketball accounting for 92% of the responses. The largest date of check-ins came on Saturday, January 28th as basketball teams hit the final month of the regular season.

The attendance contest will run through the end of the spring season and includes the spring season women's sports of golf, softball, tennis, track and field.

The attendance contest is part of a nationwide effort to promote women's college sports on campuses.
