The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Players of the Week for April 24, 2023

Diamond Sports Baseball Hitter of the Week
  Landon Mokris, Greenville University

Mokris powered the Panthers' offense to four double-digit run games last week, all wins. The senior hit .667 with 5 home runs and 16 RBI on the week, recording three multiple-hit games. He had a pair of home runs against both Rose Hulman and Principia. Mokris finished the week with a 2.083 slugging percentage and scored 9 runs.

Diamond Sports Pitcher of the Week
  Mike Dunne, Eureka College

Picked up a complete game win over Blackburn on Sunday. He struck out 9 batters over his 9 innings of work, limiting the Beavers to just one earned run and three hits. Dunne issued no walks in the 11-2 victory. 

Softball Hitter of the Week
 

Paige Thomas, Webster University

The junior catcher batted .650 over six games for the Gorloks last week, hitting one home run and driving in 7. She had five multi-hit games including a pair of three-hit performances. Thomas twice drove in three during Gorlok wins on the week and finished with a .950 slugging percentage.

Softball Pitcher of the Week
  Hailey Kutz, Fontbonne University

Kutz notched a pair of wins over conference opponents last week for the Griffins. She threw six innings in a win over Westminster, holding them to two runs and five hits. She followed with seven innings and 13 strikeouts in a victory over Greenville. On the week she worked 13 innings, striking out 13 and allowing just four runs and two walks.

Men's Outdoor Field    
  Blake Thebeau, Greenville University

Thebeau easily won the hammer throw at the Twilight Meet, with a distance of 158'7". That mark was over nine feet further than the closest competitor and gave him his 3rd event win of the spring. He also competed in the discus, finishing 6th.

Men's Outdoor Track    
  Chase LaTouche, Greenville University

LaTouche helped the Panthers to a 1st place finish at the Twilight Meet, capturing top times in the 200-meter dash and 4x400 relay. He had a personal best time of 21.93 seconds in the dash and later was part of the winning relay team with a time of 3:20.

Women's Outdoor Field    
  Talahiva Talanoa, Greenville University

The sophomore thrower won a pair of events last weekend while also finishing 4th in the discus. She won the hammer throw with a lifetime best distance of 146'3". She also took top honors in the shot put with a mark of 38'9". 

Women's Outdoor Track    
  Sara Yakana, Greenville University

Yakana was part of two 1st place finishes at the Twilight Meet; taking first in the 200-meter dash and participating in the winning 4x100-meter relay team. Her time of 26.66 seconds in the 200 was a lifetime best. She also served as the anchor for the Panthers relay team which finished in 48.31 seconds.

  • Ashley Carrow, Fontbonne University (Softball) Drove in 10 over four games last week including six in a win over Westminster.
  • Joshua Clark, Webster University (Track and Field) Took 1st in the 400-meter dash with a personal record time of 50.02 seconds. 
  • Caleb Collins, Spalding University (Baseball) Recorded 10 strikeouts in 8 innings of work last week, spread over two games.
  • Steven Diaz, Westminster College (Baseball) Hit .400, scoring 9 runs, and driving in 8 over five games last week.
  • Luke Fleener, Greenville University (Baseball) Struck out 9 in just five innings of work against Principia.
  • Ben Kowalski, Webster University (Baseball) Had two saves in two appearances last week, striking out three in 2 1/3 innings.
  • Jessica Tucker, Spalding University (Softball) Had multiple hits in all four games last week, hitting .643 overall.
  • Chase Ulrich, Eureka College (Baseball) Went 9-for-14 at the plate including a four hit game.
