ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The Fontbonne University men's basketball team struggled to find an offensive rhythm on Wednesday falling 81-46 against (RV) WashU.
In the first, the Bears put Fontbonne in a 13-4 hole at the 13:42 mark after Tyler van Eeekren went 1-of-2 from the line.
Fontbonne trimmed the deficit to 19-13 just four minutes later on Brent Wagner's 3-pointer. However, the Bears closed out the half on a 27-9 run leading 46-22 at the break.
The Bears shot 60.0 percent from the field in the first, while the Griffins shot 45.0 percent but committed 14 turnovers.
In the second half, the Bears maintained its double-digit lead shooting 50.0 percent from the field and controlled the glass with a 21-10 advantage en route to the 35-point win.
