Men's tennis routs Anderson in 8-1 win

URBANA, Ill. - The men's tennis team returned to action after Spring Break and rolled to an 8-1 win over Anderson on Tuesday at the Atkins Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Illinois.

The Panthers took all three doubles matches by healthy margins. The No. 2 doubles team of Clark Kent and Luke Motsinger dominated their opponents in an 8-1 win. The No. 1 tandem of Andres Sanchez and Rafael Rodriguez captured an 8-2 win, and the No. 3 duo of Thibaut Tignee and Jordi Matuhen won 8-4.

In singles, the Panthers picked up a solid 6-1, 6-1 victory from No. 4 Kent, and No. 1 Sanchez took a 6-4, 6-1 win.

No. 2 Rodriguez defeated his opponent 6-1, 7-5, and No. 5 Motsinger gained a 6-1, 7-6 triumph.

No. 3 Matuhen had to go to a third set tiebreak before winning 6-7, 6-1, 10-6

The Panthers (12-5) will travel to Iowa for a pair of matches on Saturday against Coe and Cornell.
