Women's soccer records 3-0 shutout over Westminster

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The women's soccer team earned the 3-0 win over Westminster on Wednesday night at Francis Field, gaining all three goals in the second half.

After a scoreless first half of action, the Panthers' Kiera Coleman provided her seventh goal of the season in the 54th minute, helping GU establish the 1-0 lead.

About five minutes later, Maddie Missey posted her third goal of the season with assists coming from Coleman and Emma Cadwell.

The score remained 2-0 until the Panthers' Jen De Leon De Leon slipped a ball past the Westminster goalkeeper with two seconds to play in the match.

Greenville outshot the Blue Jays 19-7, and the Blue Jays had three attempts on target that GU goalkeeper Grace Gehner stopped for saves.

The Panthers (9-5, 9-2 SLIAC) sit squarely in second place in the SLIAC standings, and they have a match at Principia on Saturday afternoon at 3:30 p.m.
