Men's soccer returns to NCAA national tournament

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The men's soccer team will represent the SLIAC as its qualifier in the NCAA national tournament after Greenville posted a 1-0 shutout at Webster on Saturday night in the final of the SLIAC tournament.

Goalkeeper Hiram Cruz posted seven saves in keeping a clean sheet.

The Panthers were led by Jamie Torres with five shots, and Andres Garcia had four shots.

Greenville ended with a slight 18-17 deficit in shots.

Kyle Sunderland collected honors as the tournament MVP, and he was joined on the All-Tournament team by Garcia and Pablo Valverde.

The Panthers (11-3-5) won their fourth SLIAC tournament and will learn their destination on Monday afternoon.
