Game 1 Breakdown
The Griffins offense got off to a sluggish start in the top of the first inning, with the first three batters to the plate grounding out. The Panthers started slugging right away, racking up six runs on eight hits, leaving two on base. Fontbonne were charged with three errors on defense in the bottom of the first, 0-6.
The Griffins started to chip away in the top of the second. Lexi Becker started it off with a walk and then stealing second. Grace Harlin reached on an error by the second baseman and scoring Becker on the play. Gracie Morris doubled to center field, scoring Harlin and earning back two runs for the Griffins, 2-6.
The bats were quiet again until the bottom of the fourth when the Panthers added to their lead with one run, on one hit, and one error, 2-7.
Lilly Jones started up the offense again in the top of the fifth inning with a single to the pitcher. Jones stole her way to third and scored on a Madison Greco double to left field. Fontbonne adds one run in their comeback. The Panthers didn't want to give up too much ground though and scored that run back with one run on one hit, 3-8.
Fontbonne tried to chip away again in the top of the sixth. Grace Harlin singled to right field. Grace Paez grounded out but was able to move Harlin to second on the play. Harlin advanced to third on a passed ball. Michaela Mason pinch hit and was hit by a pitch. With runners on first and third, Lilly Jones singled to left field, scoring Harlin. The Griffins score one but strand three runners, 4-8.
The Griffins offense came alive with their last chance at bat. Hannah Miener started it off with a big solo home run to center field. Lexi Becker singled up the middle. Grace Harlin walked, moving Becker to second. Kassidy Chrisco walked, loading up the bases. Logan Darrow stepped in as a pinch hitter and singled to right field, scoring Becker. Allysa Ibarra singled to second earning two RBIs as Chrisco and Harlin scored on the play. Ibarra and Darrow scored on a passed ball. Madison Greco walked, bringing Miener up to bat for the second time in the inning. Miener cranked out a double to center field, scoring Greco and giving Fontbonne the long-awaited lead, 11-9. Fontbonne's defense stayed strong in the last inning and held the Panthers scoreless and earning the victory.

Lilly Jones: 2-for-4 with 1 run and 1 RBI
Gracie Morris: 2-for-4 with 1 RBI
Hannah Miener: 2-for-4 with 1 run, 2 RBIs, and 1 homerun
Game 2 Breakdown
The bats grew cold again for Fontbonne in game two of the series against Greenville. The Panthers took the lead in the first inning with one run on two hits, 0-1. Greenville added three more runs in the bottom of the third, with one hit and Fontbonne was charged with an error, 0-4.
Fontbonne was scoreless until the top of the fourth inning. Lilly Jones singled through the left side. Allysa Ibarra reached on an error by the third baseman, advancing Jones to second. Lexi Becker singled to third base, scoring Jones. Fontbonne managed to score one run on two hits, but left two on base, 1-4.
Neither team scored in the last three innings, as Fontbonne loses game two of the series, 1-4.

Hailey Kutz: 6 IP, 5 hits, and 6 strikeouts

The Griffins will now head to Elsah, Illinois to face Principia College on Tuesday, April 26th at 5:00pm and 7:00pm CST.
