Women's Basketball Puts On Offensive Showcase In Win Over Beavers
ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The Fontbonne University women’s basketball team picked up its third win in its last four in dominating fashion with a 106-65 win over Blackburn. The 106 points are tied for second in program history in a single game. Fontbonne moves to 7-9 overall and 2-3 in the SLIAC. Blackburn falls to 1-13 and 0-5 in SLIAC play.

Mallory Ronshausen and Ja'mise Bailey tied with 20 points each, which is a new season-high for Ronshausen. Madison Nelson finished with 13 points, while Kourtney White added 12. Haley Buscher came off the bench for a season-high 11 points.
In the first quarter, the Griffins took a 10-5 lead at 6:34 on Ronshausen's 3-pointer. Later, the Griffins led 19-12, but the Beavers kept hanging around closing out the final 3:30 on a 12-6 run putting Fontbonne's lead at 25-24.
In the second, the Griffins blew the game wide open making its first four shots to expand its lead out to 35-24 with 7:48 remaining.
Fontbonne shot 61.1 percent from the field in the quarter allowing them to take a 55-37 lead into the locker room.
It was more of the same story in the third with the Griffins outscoring Blackburn 34-13 pushing its lead out to 89-50. Fontbonne shot 45.8 percent from the floor in the third and went a perfect 10-of-10 from the free throw line.
From there, the Griffins were well in control in the fourth cruising to the 41-point victory.
Fontbonne shot a season-high 50.0 percent from the floor, hit 10 3-pointers, and went 20-of-26 (76.9 percent) from the free throw line. Defensively, the Griffins came away with a season-high 25 steals.
