Lady Falcons Fall In Exhibitions

The Kansas Christian women's basketball team dropped three exhibition matchups last week on the road. The three losses do not affect the Falcons overall record being exhibition matchups. The women's basketball team is in the midst of a stretch of four straight exhibition games. Their overall record remains 4-0. 

In the first exhibition game of the week, the Falcons took Nebraska Wesleyan to the limit leading into the fourth quarter, but Nebraska Wesleyan used a 21-12 fourth quarter advantage to take a 65-55 victory over the Falcons. Brendeja Holloman led the team in points with 12. Mikalle Lowry added 11 points. Lowry also had a team high 13 rebounds to get her first double-double of the season. 

The Falcons then took on Westminster from NCAA Divison III. After trailing big in the first quarter the Falcons clawed their way back in the game in the second to trail by just two at halftime. Westminster pulled away in the third quarter and eventually earned a 66-52 win. Danna Wagnon had a team high 15 points and Brendeja Holloman scored in double figures again with 13 points. Holloman alse led the Falcons in rebounds with eight. Mikalle Lowry had five steals and blocked two shots. 

In the final exhibition game of the week, the Falcons made the short trip to Olathe, Kan. to take on MidAmerica Nazarene University. The Pioneers jumped on the Falcons early and went on to a 79-43 win over the Falcons. Zhira Cephus scored 16 points to lead the Falcons offensively. Mikale Lowry had a team high 11 rebounds. 

This week the Falcons play one more exhibition game at Northeastern State on Wednesday at 6pm before hosting Blackburn College on Saturday in an official game at 1pm in Cowen Memorial Auditorium.
