Fontbonne Softball Victorious Against Panthers in SLIAC Tournament

Game 1 Breakdown
Greenville got on the board in the top of the first with one run after a triple to right center. The Griffins answered right back. Lilly Jones led the inning off with a walk and then stole second. Allysa Ibarra followed it up with a walk. Gracie Morris doubled to center field, scoring Jones. Lexi Becker singled, driving in Ibarra on the play, 1-2.
Hailey Kutz sat down the side in the top of the second inning, earning two strikeouts. Fontbonne's offense added two more runs after Lilly Jones singled up the middle. Allysa Ibarra walked, moving Jones to second. Gracie Morris was hit by a pitch, loading up the bases. Hannah Miener singled to right field, scoring Ibarra and Jones, 1-4.
In the top of the fourth inning, the Panthers added one run with a solo homerun by Mia Boyd. Fontbonne was able to win that run back right away in the bottom of the inning. Grace Harlin walked. Grace Paez singled to left field. Sam Foppe reached on a throwing error and scoring Harlin, 2-5.
The Griffins had a big inning in the bottom of the fifth. Allysa Ibarra led off with a walk. Gracie Morris hit a two-run blast to center field. Hannah Miener singled up the middle. Lexi Becker reached on a fielder's choice and then stole second. Grace Harlin was hit by a pitch, moving Becker to third. Ellie Bartlett pinch hit for Grace Paez and grounded out but drove in Becker. Fontbonne advanced the lead, 2-8.
Greenville continued to battle in the top of the sixth inning, scoring one run on one hit with one error. Fontbonne earned that run back again in the bottom of the inning. Kassidy Chrisco singled through the right side and then stole second. Gracie Morris walked. Hannah Miener doubled down the line, scoring Chrisco and giving the Griffins a 3-9 lead.
Hailey Kutz finished out strong, sitting down three Panther batters in the top of the seventh and earning her seventh win in the circle.
