Men's Basketball Falls In Final Seconds Against Webster
ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The Fontbonne University men’s basketball team suffered a tough 64-62 loss in the final seconds against Webster on Saturday. Fontbonne falls to 5-8 overall and 1-1 in conference play. Webster goes to 4-8 overall and 2-0 in the SLIAC.

Brent Wagner led all scorers with a season-high 21 points on 8-of-12 shooting. Caden Clark was the final player in double-figures with 13 points.
The Griffins grabbed the early lead in the first half and stretched it out to 21-14 with 8:40 remaining on Brent Wagner's 3-pointer.
The Gorloks went on a 7-1 run over the next three minutes, but Fontbonne closed out the half on a 12-4 run with Wagner's bucket giving them a 34-25 advantage after one.
Fontbonne shot 62.5 percent from the floor in the first led by Clark with 11 points. Webster shot 32.3 percent from the field.
In the second half, the Griffins opened with a 6-0 run stretching its lead out to 40-25 on Adam Painter's layup at 18:13.
With 8:31 remaining, the Griffins remained in control leading 53-39 on Grant Hasting's jumper. From there, the Gorloks went on a 16-0 run in three minutes time capped off by Jemard Sykes II 3-pointer giving them a 55-53 lead.
Fontbonne answered right back with Wagner connecting on a 3-pointer giving them the 56-55 advantage.
However, the Gorloks retook the lead and expanded it out to 62-56 with 1:52 remaining on Jason Coleman's dunk.
Fontbonne kept battling going on a 6-0 run with Wagner hitting another 3-pointer tying the game at 62-62 with 1:22 left.
Webster went on to hit a couple free throws late taking a 64-62 lead and the Griffins final shot attempt came up short with the Gorloks hanging on for the win.
Fontbonne shot 46.4 percent from the field, while the Gorloks shot 36.7 percent.
