Women's Basketball Erupts For 28 Fourth Quarter Points In Win Over Lake Forest

Kourtney White led a quartet of Fontbonne players reaching double-figures finishing with a game-high 18 points on 50.0 percent (8-of-16) shooting.
Madison Nelson and Mallory Ronshausen each had 13 points, while Ja'mise Bailey totaled 12 points and tied White on the glass with seven rebounds.
After leading 5-4, the Griffins used a 7-0 run taking a 12-4 advantage on Ronshausen's 3-pointer at the 4:42 mark.
The Foresters answered with a 10-1 run over a three-minute stretch to take a 14-13 lead, however, the Griffins got a layup from Ronshausen with just under a minute left putting them back on top by one after a quarter of play.
It was back-and-forth action throughout the second, but the Griffins were clinging to a 27-25 lead on Rylee Pickett's 3-pointer with 2:57 remaining.
With 1:36 left, the Foresters got the lead back and looked to head into the locker room on top by three, but Ronshausen forced a steal with just seconds remaining and got the layup putting Fontbonne down 32-31 at the break.
In the third, the Griffins tried to gain some breathing room with Nelson's layup extending its advantage out to 40-34 with 8:04 on the clock.
The Foresters kept battling outscoring Fontbonne 11-4 over the next four minutes to own a 45-44 lead. Fontbonne answered with a 6-0 run and went into the fourth quarter on top, 50-49.
In the fourth, the Griffins opened with four three-pointers in just a minute and 10 seconds in giving them a 59-49 lead.
It was all Fontbonne the rest of the way with the team shooting 64.7 percent from the floor and hitting six three-pointers as they cruised to the 14-point win.
Fontbonne shot 44.4 percent from the floor and tied its season-high with 11 three-pointers made. They also dished out a season-high 23 assists and defensively came away with a season-high 16 steals.
