Men's basketball drops game against Millikin

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The men's basketball team continued the start of their season with their second game of a four-game homestand, and they were defeated 120-84 by Millikin on Tuesday night in H.J. Long Gymnasium.

The Panthers were led in scoring by Carlos Crespo who posted a team high 14 points, all of which were scored in the first half.

Greenville trailed 64-42 at the half.

In the second half, Kieshun Thomas provided 11 of his 13 points as the Panthers held Millikin to an 11 point edge.

Darius Scott joined Crespo and Thomas in double figures with 11 points.

The Panthers were outrebounded 55-30, but GU received a team-high five rebounds from Ian Green.

Greenville finished with 13 steals en route to forcing 27 turnovers from Millikin. Adrian Alvarez led GU with three steals, and Joseph Craig, Crespo, and Green all had two steals.

The Panthers leading assist men were Jamie Calmese, Crespo, and Brock Bailey all with three.

The Panthers (0-2) will play Wisconsin-Stout on Friday at 5 p.m. in Greenville.
