Fontbonne Women's Soccer Ends In A 1-1 Draw Against Webster

ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The Fontbonne University women's soccer team battled Webster to a 1-1 (2OT) draw on Wednesday night.
Game Breakdown
The Gorloks got on the board early in the first as Jennifer Munger received a pass from Mackenzie O'Neal in the box and she scored into the top right corner giving Webster a 1-0 lead.
Then, the Griffins scored the equalizer in the 20th minute when a foul was called against Webster in the box. Molly Kovarik stepped up and scored her 10th on the season. Fontbonne held a 10-0 shot advantage the rest of the way.
In the second half, the Gorloks were forced to play down a player in the 59th minute after receiving a red card. The Griffins continued its offensive push with a 7-1 shot advantage after the card, but couldn't net the game winner so it was off to overtime.
In the first OT, the best scoring chance for either team came in the 95th minute when Kovarik's shot went off the post and stayed out of the net.
Between the two overtimes, the Griffins had a combined 7-1 shot advantage, however, neither team was unable to break the tie ending in a 1-1 draw.
Fontbonne Notables
- The Griffins finished with a 29-7 shot advantage.
- Kovarik led with eight shots. Her goal was her 46th in career putting her just three away from becoming the all-time leader.
- Krystal Kohenskey ended with seven shots, while Kierstyn Weaver and Caitlyn Smith had four shots each.
- Mary Beers made four saves in net.
