FULTON, Mo. - The men's tennis team defeated Westminster in two matches on Tuesday afternoon, winning 9-0 in the first match before defeating the Blue Jays 5-0 in the second match.

Match 1

Greenville did not take their entire roster to the match because Westminster only had a program of four players. In the first match, GU won three matches by default.

In the matches that were contested, Greenville's No. 1 doubles combination of Clark Kent and Luke Motsinger shut out Westminster 8-0. The No. 2 pairing of Jordi Matuhen and Thibaut Tignee also won 8-0.

In singles, the matches were eight game pro sets. Greenville's No. 1 Matuhen had the closest match, winning an 8-6 decision.

No. 2 Kent was an 8-3 winner, No. 3 Motsinger earned an 8-1 win, and No. 4 Tignee delivered an 8-0 shutout.

Match 2

In the second match, the teams only had to play two doubles matches to give Greenville a match clinching five wins.

GU changed their doubles combinations. Kent joined Matuhen at No. 1 doubles, and Motsinger played with Tignee at No. 2 doubles.

Kent/Matuhen won 8-2, and Motsinger/Tignee picked up an 8-0 shutout. GU won No. 3 doubles, No. 5 singles, and No. 6 singles by default.
