Baseball completes series sweep of Principia

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The baseball team defeated Principia 16-5 and 24-5 on Saturday at Robert E. Smith Field.

Game 1

The Panthers scored 14 runs over the first three innings and topped Principia in seven innings.

Landon Mokris went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Rhett Pennington produced a 2-for-3 effort with one run and four RBI.

George Schneider scored three runs for the Panthers, and Drew Frey, Snyder Pennington, and Brexton Beard had two runs.

Braden Maltbie picked up the win, delivering five innings on the mound.

Game 2

A 15 run first inning for the Panthers eliminated Principia's 2-0 first inning lead and led to a 24-5 dominating win.

R. Pennington and Mokris both homered for GU.

Panthers delivering two hits included Logan Garrick, R. Pennington, and Zack McClease.

Mokris pushed his conference-leading RBI total to 57 with three in the game, and Parker Milligan also had three RBI. R. Pennington gave GU four RBI.

Lucas Teel pitched the first four innings and allowed four runs on six hits with six strikeouts.

Dylan Boehm provided the win in relief with a scoreless inning.
