Four Griffins Reach Double-Figures In Win Over Gorloks

Fontbonne had four players in double-figures led by Caden Clark with 19 points. Elijah Rice added 15 points on 7-of-11 shooting, while Brent Wagner added 14. Cheikh Thiam earned his third double-double with 14 points and 12 boards.
In the first half, the Griffins trailed 11-5 at the 15:45 mark but rattled of a 13-0 run in four minutes and 40 seconds taking an 18-11 lead on Rice's made jumper.
Later, the two teams met up at 28-28 on Wynne Brown Jr.'s three-pointer with 4:06 remaining. However, the Griffins closed out the half on a 10-0 run with Rice's layup at the buzzer giving Fontbonne a 38-28 advantage.
Fontbonne shot 45.7 percent from the floor with Rice pacing the offense with nine points. The Griffins also owned a 23-16 advantage on the glass.
In the second half, the Griffins stretched its advantage out to 49-33 on Clark's 3-pointer with 16:39 remaining. Webster, though outscored Fontbonne 15-6 over the next five minutes putting them down 55-48.
Fontbonne got its lead back out to double-digits (65-50) with 7:30 left on Rice's jumper. The Griffins remained in control from there going on for the 12-point victory.
Fontbonne fared even better in the second half offensively connecting on 53.6 percent of its attempts with Clark scoring 15 points, while Thiam added 10.
Overall, the Griffins shot 49.2 percent from the floor and outrebounded Webster, 39-28. The Gorloks ended the afternoon hitting 37.3 percent of its attempts and draining 10 three-pointers.
